Day 4
I took the plane to Australia early in the morning. I was a bit nervous of going to Australia, the thought of being in the country that got the worlds ten most poisonous snakes.
Five of Australia’s creatures are

one country. Despite my nerves I were also extremely happy to finally visit this peace of land. I landed in Sydney, the biggest city and also the capital of Australia. What I first noticed about Sydney was their spectacular harbors, the outdoor lifestyle and all the beautiful natural surroundings. The Opera House was on the top of my “what to do list”. I just had to see one of the most performing arts in the world. The architect for this amazing building is Jørn Utzon and was built in the 19th century. It isn’t just theaters, ballet and musicals, but also offices for big companies.
After a quick look at the Opera House I hired a scooter and did a round trip of the northern beaches, mainly to Narrabeen and Palm Beach. Here I could find everything, shops, bars and restaurants. Palm Beach is a beautiful beach with parks, sport areas, golf clubs, sailing clubs, and so on. I was walking trough white sand on the beach I bumped into a sign saying that I had to watch out for sharks in the water. I got Goosebumps running on my back. I knew that it was a lot of white sharks here in Australia. They are the most dangerous sharks and can kill you in a second. The sign freaked me out, so I jumped on my scooter and continued my tourism. As I was drove trough the streets I could see people playing cricket, rugby and football in the parks. Cricket is the most popular sport in Sydney in the summer, but over all, Rugby is the most popular sport.
By night I was exploring the amazing nightlife of Sydney and enjoying my last day of vacation. I knew that Sydney has an active nightlife and a numerous cafes, bars and clubs. I went to Cockle Bay Wahrf in Darling Harbour. Here I could find a place were they played live indigenous music. The music is dated back more than 60,000 years ago and includes the music of Australian Aborigines. The music of Australia is very influenced by the US and the UK, but this unique type of music is Australia’s pride. They played songs from Jimmy Little, who is an Australian Aborigines musician. I thought of my exciting journey and all the things I had seen, but I was ready to go home. Next morning I took an early flight back home to Norway.
